  1. What light have you got above the turntable please?

  2. First let me say I would not consider myself a “collector”, so when I’m shopping online for vinyl I’m looking for great playing vinyl of the best copies I can afford. By focusing on the vinyl if a sticker is missing or the cards are not in the package you can get a better price. I also will look for sellers in the country I want the pressing from, it just increases the pool of records to try and find a clean copy.

  3. My two tips that weren’t already mentioned in the video is:
    1) In physical stores, ask if they’re running loyalty programs. The store I frequent for example has a loyalty program where you get 5-10% off on your purchases.
    2) Some stores have discount bins, where they sell old stock at a discount.

  4. The January Sales.

  5. Great ideas! I wish I would have known about it sooner.

  6. on eBay you can actually sometimes even see the image on the vinyl record itself. I’m not talking about the case itself now. I’m talking about the vinyl

  7. Disclogs Is well good if you want to find a specific version or release of an album for example you want it to be released in a specific year or in a certain country . For example if you are interested in the Beatles then you might want a UK version

  8. On eBay you can, for example, write the name of the album and perhaps a year, for example 1983

  9. Great video, learned new essential tips. Long time ebay seller, Discogs 2023…….Aloha

  10. Wait don’t pay crazy Discogs there’s almost always a reissue. Often a record is still cheap from the website of the manufacturer and it’s much more on Discogs for some reason?

  11. look into his eyes and only blink when he blinks tell me your eyes arent burning

  12. You could simply try cultivating an interest exclusively in Andy Williams, Mantovani, and The Kingston Trio. Those records are practically free at every thrift store in the US.

  13. And you can also google the album. So maybe you can find someone with a good price on Google shopping, for example. and in different countries there may be different websites that sell or advertise these albums. yes even auction sites. and stores that sell vintage items can also sometimes sell vinyl records

  14. I really dont agree with all the advice for online saving. 1. Setting up tracking for prices is not goid wheb sticking to a budget. Just because its $5 cheaper, doesnt make it free or worth it. 2. Most online purchases charge shipping which can eat up that money you saved. I jumped on a killer sale for small record label and got record for $12.50 but still paid $5 a record for shipping. Still a great deal but not amazing.

  15. great video man!

  16. I got into vinyl and started buying from a local shop, went there a few times. Later on I figured out I was being completely ripped off, and could get the same records much cheaper online.

Don’t ignore the$3.00 bins here in the US. I have found many near mint records in these bins and some obscure titles. Keep your eyes open and remember a dusty record can be cleaned to reveal a real gem.

  18. great video

  19. Great video and tips mate, especially useful for a newbie to record collecting like myself
