I am not sure what kind of mushroom you freeze, but I freeze chopped shiitake mushroom and they are great in soup and stir-fry ๐Ÿ˜€

  4. You could also dehydrate the mushrooms. Aldi had an amazing sale price early in 2024 and my sister and I dehydrated over a case of mushrooms each.

  5. That why they are called mush-rooms.๐Ÿ˜‚

  6. @margaretcleckner6356 February 28, 2025 at 6:58 pm

    Need to get to ALDI

This is great. I didn’t know about the clean 15. Also, boullion has so many preservatives and often MSG. I never buy those. You may want to read that label.

I save money recently by making my own bakery yums at home. I make Pizza dough, sweet bread loafs, flat breads with fillings I cook up & pasta that I freeze. I make cakes without expensive butter, I replace it very successfully with buttermilk. I won’t cook a cake that has more than 3 eggs. This is all saving me money & it’s yummy to bakery cook using home fillings the same as you would buy for alot of money out.

  16. Start baking at home forget Orios

  17. First time subscriber and thoroughly enjoyed listening to all your tips on food shopping. My tip is to put a fresh piece of paper towel into your bag of salad or vegetables and remove all air before storing. Change paper regularly and they keep for a long time. I donโ€™t waste. Use every scrap of food in imaginative ways. For instance my piece of meat is generally more than I want. I cook it, cut off the amount I intend to eat, cool the remainder and foil wrap and refrigerate. I now have the makings of a second meal the next day whether sandwich, pizza, quiche, stir fry or simply cut up thin and served with salad or roasted vegetables. Thank you for sharing

  18. My ‘thing’ is that I save just a little bit of a food, like a recipe asks for 2 carrots – I use only 1 and 1/2 a carrots and I save 1/2 a carrot.
A recipe asks for a dozen eggs – I use 10 eggs and save 2.
A recipe asks for a small bag of spinach – I save a hand full of spinach… at the end of the week I can make an extra meal out of those saved items and add some rice and make a stir fry, or boil the eggs for an egg sandwich and make veg soup.
I usually cook one piece of chicken too many, and with 1/3 a celery stalk, a piece of carrot, and a small slice of onion, add some mayo, I make chicken salad that usually makes enough for 3 to 4 sandwiches.

  19. I’ve been ignoring the Digital store coupons forever. Don’t know why….just obstinate, I guess. I’m gonna try this tip finally. We’ve been eating lots more vegetables lately instead of boxed food.

  20. @italianmermaid6306 February 28, 2025 at 7:10 pm

    You mispronounced coupon

  21. HEATED LUNCHBOX! About $24 on Amazon, $19 on TEMU. They come with an attachment to plug into the wall and one for the cigarette lighter. After I cook dinner, I immediately put the food into the lunchboxes to be taken to work the next day. Saves money by not eating fast food and prevents things going to waste! This has not only saved money, but we have lost weight and feel better because I know exactly what is in everything. SIDE NOTE: Organic and free range all of the words they slap on things to add $$ is BS. Unless you buy it from a local farmer, don’t pay extra. Look it up, it doesn’t mean what you think it does. Thanks for the tips!

  22. @MELINDASSIMPLEBLESSINGS February 28, 2025 at 7:11 pm

Maybe 75 -80 percent of what i buy is store brand

  23. @MELINDASSIMPLEBLESSINGS February 28, 2025 at 7:12 pm

Veggies are rotting in the fridge .
๐Ÿ™ Ill work on it tomorrow

  24. I don’t like store brand mustard.

  25. @mariasinclair9718 February 28, 2025 at 7:16 pm

    I like the clean 15,
2nd My go to saver is if my regular food item is on sale I buy more because of the due date and I estimate how much I need. ๐Ÿ˜Š

  26. Thanks for the tips! Happy to hear that I already do many of these things! ๐Ÿ˜Š

  27. The Yuka app is awesome for quickly determining what packaged foods & cosmetics are healthy and worth your money. Just scan and see. I will be printing out the dirty dozen list. Thx ๐ŸŽ‰

  28. @carolinagrammy2735 February 28, 2025 at 7:18 pm

Unfortunately the dirty dozen card is no longer available ๐Ÿ˜”

  29. Great tips! I am a new subscriber. If you shop at Aldiโ€™s, donโ€™t assume everything is cheaper. Lately my husband has checked other stores (Meijer, Krogers and Walmart) and it finding other stores were cheaper. An example ,eggs!

  30. @MELINDASSIMPLEBLESSINGS February 28, 2025 at 7:20 pm

    Good video

  31. @ellencourtney7187 February 28, 2025 at 7:20 pm

    Cooโ€”pon. Not Cueโ€”pon. Please.

  32. @jeanettekamradt3132 February 28, 2025 at 7:22 pm

I loved the idea of putting things from the back of your fridge that will expire soon to the front of the fridge. We shop at Meijer and I always go through their digital coupons and compare those to what is also on sale. Not too long ago we saved 80.00 on our bill because of this. You have some great ideas! Thank you!๐Ÿ˜Š

  33. I use the electronic cart. It has all the store coupons listed. They pop up automatically for you.

  34. The strength of ingredients are not the same in store brand vs. Name brand.

  35. I absolutely can say that I don’t waste food. Because I do not.

  36. Ask for a dehydrator for Christmas or your birthday……or make an envelope to save for one. Gamechanger!

  37. @MELINDASSIMPLEBLESSINGS February 28, 2025 at 7:32 pm

    Literally taking notes

  38. @deborahmcintosh2863 February 28, 2025 at 7:33 pm

I know this video is old, but I just read on the news where Aldi is going to put at least 200 additional stores nationwide

  39. @SarahBenirschke94 February 28, 2025 at 7:33 pm

I know this video is old but if anyone reads this, one tip i have is when meal planning, if you are going to shop at walmart or a place that does grocery pick up/delivery you can add the items into the cart just to see roughly the prices and adjust your meal plan / shopping if necessary to stay in budget

  40. @marilynalbert1314 February 28, 2025 at 7:35 pm

DON’T THINK YOU CAN FREEZE SOUR CREAM EITHER

  41. @justmorganstitching February 28, 2025 at 7:37 pm

You mention the amount of food waste in America, yet also mention not wanting to get produce via online ordering because it "isn’t what you would normally select". I challenge you to be more open minded with produce. One of the main reasons there is so much waste is because the American consumer wants "perfect" looking produce. A lot gets thrown out because it is not selected.

  42. @MELINDASSIMPLEBLESSINGS February 28, 2025 at 7:37 pm

    Subscribed

  43. @sharaleepierce4223 February 28, 2025 at 7:39 pm

Excellent ideas and most helpful. Thank you for your efforts.

  44. I need to make lists!!

  45. The organic tip was new to me and I stretch boneless chicken by slow cooking and shredding and use for rice and beans. Dark meat is cheaper.

  46. @julynnjamerson191 February 28, 2025 at 7:42 pm

#2 รฌs actually true because the grocery store manager do not want to lose their customers.

  47. Iโ€™m only at number three or four on this video, but I can honestly tell you that yesterday, I did online grocery shopping and I was shocked that they gave me so many dented cans. Normally I to avoid including produce in my online shopping because they donโ€™t pick out the best fruits and vegetables. But the cans absolutely shocked me. Anyhow, I love this video. New subscriber.

  48. @susanhernandez7290 February 28, 2025 at 7:44 pm

Love digital coupons use all the time.

  49. I chop up onions and batch freeze them, they’re fine also I’m in Britain and our supermarkets sell frozen mushrooms. Dry fry them on medium untill all the water has gone then add your oil/butter

  50. @christinegraham7560 February 28, 2025 at 7:44 pm

We make our own pizzas and tomato sauce for pasta itโ€™s cheaper and fun ๐Ÿ˜Š
