Most retailers’ and manufacturers’ websites allow you to register for rewards programs at no charge. You will get advance notice of sales, and can often build rewards toward future purchases. Also watch the online clearance sections, especially as the seasons change. Do you care that you are wearing last season’s shirt? Or socks?
Remember: 1) the fashion industry survives on change, and 2) fashion has nothing to do with looking good.
Just go to thrift stores and keep the money local.

I feel one important tip is that it’s okay not to buy anything. If you don’t actually need something, and the only way you can justify buying something is a great discount, save your money. Reward yourself with something more worthwhile with that money later on.
I found a men’s ring at Macy’s that was shown at 50% off from $1,150. Great deal, right? I happened to check online and they had it listed for $350 (from the original $1,150). It was a mistake on corporate’s part, but the in-store manager had to honor the price! CHECK ONLINE!

What would you recommend for a medical resident who wants to dress nice but still blend in? People in my profession who dress extra nice seem to be singled out during rounds and given unbearable work. Thanks in advance!
consumers understand SPONCERED videos but it still annoys when they’re really engaged into the topic and they’re interrupted for {lets say} a UNIQLO BELT ADD, but they’re really there ONLY to see if they SHOULD wear a BELT with they’re favorite shorts.. – – very frustrating at times

I always ask for a discount when I buy something. Saying something like, "Is this one sale for 25% off?" I’ve even gone so far as to say, "Isn’t this all on sle for 25% off?: with a smile. Yep, I got 25% off with no questions asked. If they can’t give 25%, you might get 20% or something else. I do this every time and almost always get a discount.

*Do Not Ask for discounts at big box stores* Used to work at some big box stores and would get pushy people insisting we or a manager could give them a discount. Wasted a lot of time helping people who had no interest in the item at full price.

Forgot one: Develop relationships with your vendors. People are more likely to give you deals if they know you and like you.
Another thing is to take the survey at the bottom of the receipt. Sometimes, at least where I work at they add 100 points to your account every time you take it(must be at least 2 weeks apart), but still 200 points could get you something else extremely discounted or even free for minimal effort.

One thing is Goodwill does NOT negotiate. I see signs that SAY any negotiation by employees including managers is CONSIDERED STEALING and they will prosecute.
You should have mentioned being nice to salesmen/women. Especially for things like appliances. I work in a store and if a customer is sincere and nice, I’ve seen them get way better prices on big purchases, just because they weren’t being an a-hole
