This guy says 10 things Michaels doesn’t want you to know. As far as I know almost every person that I know that shop at Michaels are aware of everything he said we didn’t know. There are signs announcing all the programs and discounts available to all customers. Bottom line, Matt Granite, in my opinion, doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I’m just saying.

I went to 2 Michael’s in my area and notice they no longer have the seasonal discounts any more. Like discount on certain home decor.

You can only use the 20% coupon on a regular priced item however there are items which are excluded like Cricut items. You can use the senior/military/teacher discount on Sale items but not clearance items. There are no reductions on clearance items.
I think I’ve had my teacher discount on top of coupon but sometimes they tele they can’t be combined on the same item. I’m sure they have done so many times. Sometimes I wonder if clerks aren’t really Surre of the rules. I always have them scan for my teacher discount and my coupon to see how t comes up., I have to look closer at my receipt next time. Really because fine art supplies are way more expensive at Michaels sometimes even with coupons than artist supply stores. i

the color of the price tag means nothing it’s just the color we happen to have. I would honestly recommend getting something when you need it not when it goes clearance.

Great info!! The one thing I was really hoping to hear was when Michael’s offers "3 for the price of 1" canvases. I paint a lot on the 4 X 5 ft size canvases and when you can get three of those for $99 it’s amazing!

I have tried to price match for identical items using Amazon and Walmart and none of my local Michael’s stores will honor the price match promise. I have been to more than 10 stores and none of them will honor it. For reference I live in South Florida.

Michael’s has just a few of items I want to buy like watercolor brushes and artist quality paints, and sculpy clay. I went yesterday for quality water color brushes and there were 5 brushes in this huge display. I have been shopping a lot on Amazon just because they have the inventory and I have free prime shipping.

We don’t have coupons really in the UK. But lucky us we have 20% sales tax on everything
12:47 Yup same with Hobby Lobby, they also roll out their Christmas stuff early as July but normally slash prices up to 40% off halfway through August. Definitely worth the wait on that too!

as a michael’s employee I appreciate tip 8. so many people come up to my register and get upset when an item is not listed as the price they were expecting, and there is little to nothing I can do about changing the price. also sometimes the price checkers are not always working but you can go up to almost any employee with an RF scanner and they can inform you of the sales price. aswell as the register has a price lookup so you can check the price before making your decision on purchasing it. please just don’t yell at an employee if the item is not the price you wanted it’s very rare that it’s an actual pricing issue.

They don’t offer the 10% additional in top of a price match anymore. You can’t use a coupon or voucher with a price match. Though vouchers are a $ off, it takes a discount off each item evenly Incase the item is returned. But it won’t take additional with the price match
The colored tickets on clearance merchandise are indeed for the employee. We color code by the quarter of a year. Then, we are told during grab bag time to pull all the so- called color.
I hope this makes sense. It’s more of a tool for our employees.
Are grab bags are usually after every season but unfortunately Halloween and fall grab bags have been delayed until a certain day in January. I’ve said to much. Lol.
I purchased a shelf drawer from Michaels for $26.80 after tax which is a fairly good deal. My mom shops at Michaels all the time for her crafts.

I learned recently that a lot of the art supplies stores, they put out holiday things a lot earlier than the holiday for craft sellers.
