I live in Vegas. I feel for anyone who tries to deal with hotels here. I tried to rent a room for visiting relatives. TWICE I was charged over $200 for reservations I canceled IN THE SAME PHONE CALL IN WHICH I MADE THEM. Hotels don’t handle their own reservations. They are "outsourced" to some company that doesn’t give a rat’s ass about customers. I would NEVER visit Vegas these days. Between the expense of everything on the Strip and the difficulty of dealing with these rip-off hotels, it isn’t worth it. Everything here was so much better when most of the Strip was run by organized crime. Corporations are much more criminal than "the mob" could ever hope to be.

Best hotel hack for 2024….Don’t go to Vegas
I use to travel up and down California by car for work & pleasure.
I would book rooms based dates & distance. I not only was set up for the nights, it also kept me from pushing myself. (It worked.) I am happy to report that I got a great room, at a great rate. Every time.
What they used to do is contract with brand new facilities that are not yet known to people & do not yet have a client base. The only downside-because they were brand new, they were usually a little further out & I had to drive a little bit further. To save 25%+ (at that time) I was more than willing.
Disclaimer: I have no idea what shape Hotwire is in now.

FYI: When I stay at places with mini-bars I ask the desk (when I check in) I wanted it locked that I did not need or want access to it. And they do.

Im trying to get free hotels
I got a life hack I work part time in Hilton as a maintenance person 1 day a week and all of my Hilton hotels anywhere in the world cap out at $40/80 max even 5 star hotels so even being a made cleaning once a week you get huge worker discounts. Anyway
All Cheap room are refresh room ( not clean ).
Wow, this is amazing! My mom enjoys playing the casino slots apps on her iPad, and she only plays the free games. We never knew they actually offer real rewards. The Priceline Mystery hotel is crap.I booked for 4 of us , but it gave us a deal for 2 and charged us non refundable , with no change or no cancellation.Priceline is a disaster
My hack for saving a bundle on a trip to Las Vegas trip is book a trip to Las Vegas NM instead of Las Vegas NV! The hotel rates are WAY cheaper.
