In a recent purchase at Marshall’s I was duped! Ellen Tracy Highlighter on Clearance with Original White Tag $4.99 covered by Red Tag at $4.00 covered by Yellow Tag at $6.00. Beware!
I bought some Levi’s jeans that said irregular and couldn’t figure out what was wrong with them. I did noticed a strong dye smell. I washed them 5 times trying vinegar, downy, different types of detergent and nothing. I saw online about put them out on the sun for a while and the smell went away for the most part. 😅

I’m a new follower so this may have been answered before. Once an item goes on clearance, what is the interval in which it is further discounted. I’ve found some items that I followed and I stopped in week after week and there was no further discount.

We went on a cruise in January of 2019 so in August of 2018, my cousin & I went to Marshalls to find clothes for the cruise & got some incredible deals because, like nearly every store in the northern hemisphere, they were trying to clear the summer stuff to transition to fall & ‘back to school’ stuff.

Be careful especially with makeup that has been marked down sometimes it has been opened and used or returned. The markdowns in clothes might have a defect.
Marshall’s , TJMAX, Home store…all same company and in my opinion just a big scam!!
Since covid, i have limited my marshals and tj maxxx shopping. I have to return to both… gotta do it.
In my general area, I have 4 marshalls and 2 tj maxx. Go a little further, and i have more of both.

All there clearance prices have gone up. I used to buy plant life bar soap for 3.99. It is now 4.99! Nasty!😮

Pro tip about online returns from a cashier:
1. KEEP YOUR RECEIPT! The cashier cannot process the return without a receipt in the case of an online return. (At least at my store)
2. Make sure you keep the bag(s) the item(s) you ordered came in. Those bags have a barcode on them that is used to process the return because the item itself will not have a Marshalls tag on it. The cashier will not have an easy time processing the return without it, and sometimes will not be able to process the return at all if their return machine can’t find the item in the system.

I used to work at a Marshalls and wasn’t aware of some of the codes on price tags. Some I knew but because I neer did markdowns or any other task that you’d learn all the codes ectt on the tags.

The code for when an item comes in the store is based on 26 months so you have to figure out what month they are in. It is the same of the maxx. Home goods ids easier to tell.

I love Marshall’s and TJ Maxx, but I never even notice "designer" or "irregular" I’ve been shopping at thrift stores long enough to know to examine stuff, and they have a good return policy. Ours is pretty popular for a small rural region, and supplanted the local mall.
I live in Québec, Canada, and am very sad to see that our Marshalls never have yellow marked-down tags, only the red ones. 😞I wonder why…

Its not a secret. Its there. Every 2 weeks are markdowns, then second red tag and for least its the yellow.
Excellent video as usual. In Canada, our CBC Market Place investigative news did an undercover story where they discovered that the ‘original price’ on these tags is completely made up by the stores and has nothing to do with reality. They also discovered that most of the high end fashion for outlets and these stores is produced differently and more cheaply than the items for the brand retail locations.
